Duke University Professor To Speak About Social And Emotional

Aspects of Gifted Youth

 

Guilford County PAGE is hosting a free event open to the public on October 17, 2013, at UNC Greensboro on the social and emotional aspects of gifted students. 

 

The event is a program entitled "TIP-ical Kids: Social and Emotional Aspects of High Ability Children and Youth" and presented by Dr. Rick Courtright of Duke TIP.  Courtright is a gifted education specialist with more than 40 years' experience and insights in the characteristics of gifted/talented students.  Courtright will also provide information about Duke TIP, a gifted education program at Duke University that identifies gifted students and provides resources and opportunities to nurture their development and talents.

 

"This program event launches our new organization's mission to serve gifted students while addressing a topic of high interest and importance to the parents and educators of these children," said Michelle Himmelman, vice president of Guilford County PAGE and gifted educator.
