Guilford Parent Academy
AG Parent Forum
There are more than 14,000 students in GCS who have been identified as academically
gifted (AG), and the district offers tremendous opportunities for those students to perform at their highest level. Through AG services, GCS provides rigorous, studentcentered learning that affirms diversity and ensures growth for gifted students. We offer guidance in discovering, realizing and developing talents.

Parents are invited to come learn more about the AG program in GCS and get any

Teaching Kids to Stay Safe Online During National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Whether it is on the streets, in the schoolyard, or online, we all want kids to be good citizens and to learn and practice behaviors that will keep them safe. October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month . This month we focus on teaching behaviors that can help kids be more successful in the cyber world. The resources below offer tips and guidance to adults. Some of the resources offer activities for kids to teach them to think about things to do - or not - that can help them stay safe and to help them figure out ways to act that can help them treat others the same way they'd like to be treated.

Fuel Up To Play 60!  Making Wellness Part of Your School's Game Plan

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a program founded by the National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with USDA, that empowers students to take charge in making small, everyday changes at school. Students can win cool prizes, like an NFL player visit or Super Bowl tickets, for choosing good-for-you foods and getting active for at least 60 minutes every day. We want kids to make a difference not only in their lives, but also their community. Up to $4,000 per year is available to any qualifying K-12 school enrolled in Fuel Up to Play 60. Schools that choose one Healthy Eating Play (including expanding breakfast programs!) and one Physical Activity Play from the 2013-14 Playbook are eligible to apply for Funds.  Next deadline is November 1, 2013. For more information and to get your school signed up visit: http://Fueluptoplay60.com or http://school.fueluptoplay60.com/funds/introduction.php
