Happy holiday weekend! I hope everyone survived the first week of school!
I would like to thank our fearless leaders for all the time you have put in this summer and at the start of school to ensure a successful year for our children. You look beyond your own child, and see the big picture of the importance of public school and reaching all children.
As a school employee, I can honestly say I don't know what we would do without our volunteers. Please continue to thank anyone in your school for any time they contribute - no matter how small. A simple thank you will keep them coming back!
Take care,
Katie Sayani

| Are you a dad, stepdad, grandfather, uncle, neighbor, or community member who wants to help kids in Guilford County Schools succeed? If so, join our movement that's JUST FOR MEN!

As the father of three children, I've been actively involved in the student life
of Brooks Global Studies Elementary School, supporting the activities and goals of our PTA. Last year I adopted a movement called the FBI (Fathers Being Involved) at Brooks and, a year later, more than 40 men are actively participating in PTA and other school activities throughout the year.
Our students and teachers love having positive male role models on school grounds, and the men who participate say they feel more connected to their children and to the school community. We have a great time together, too!
The Guilford County Council of PTAs would like to increase male involvement in every elementary, middle and high school in Guilford County. It takes "A Few Good Men" to get it started, which is why I am asking YOU to answer the call. If you're interested in learning more about how to empower males at your local school-and getting connected to an amazing TEAM of men here in Guilford County - please enter your information here.
Together, we can live out our motto of "Serving Our Children by Leading by Example!"
