PTA Leader packets and Principal Packets will be sent to your schools from GCC of PTAs this week. We hope you find the packets filled with helpful information to get your year off to a good start. Please share the materials with your board members .
We are working hard to bring you a new website which is up to date, user friendly and full of important information. Please bear with us while we make every effort to improve our support of local PTA units.
This will be my last week of summer, and then I head back to work. I hope everyone takes advantage of last two weeks to enjoy family time together! The summer has certainly flown by.

- REGISTER now for the free GCC of PTAs Parent Engagement Conference which will be held Saturday, September 14th from 8:00am-3:00pm at A&T University. Get all the training your PTA needs to have a terrific year.
- Go to your school and pick up your PTA Leader packet which will arrive via courier later this week.
- Spend time with your children before they return to school!

- Treasurers training will be offered on September 14th at our Parent Engagement Conference. Trainings include PTA Finances, IRS Compliance and How to Build a Budget. Register now.

S.P.I.C.E. Grants, Strengthening Parent Involvement in Children's Education, will be available again this year, thanks to the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, to all local unit PTAs in good standing. All submissions should be new ideas to increase family engagement at your school. You don't have to reinvent the wheel. There are lots of ideas out there to pull from on the web, but this should be something your PTA has not tried before.
Grant submissions will be ONLINE this year! This will be available as soon as our new website is up and running. Meanwhile, you can begin preparing by downloading the packet and writing your rough draft.

- September 14th - Parent Leaders - Don't Miss!! Our Parent Engagement Conference and Full Council Meeting will be held at A&T University from 8:00am-3:00pm. There will be speakers and break out training sessions, plus lunch for everyone who registers. This event is sponsored by NCPTA, A&T University, and Guilford Parent Academy. REGISTER HERE
