Der Bourgeois Bigwig
Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center, 8:00 PM
The Department of Music in collaboration with The Lewis Center for the Arts Program in Theater present the world premiere of Der Bourgeois Bigwig, an adaptation by James Magruder of Molière's comedy Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme. The new libretto complements Richard Strauss' 1912 orchestral suite and incidental music. Director of the Program in Theater, Tim Vasen, directs the production in association with Michael Pratt who conducts members of the
Princeton University Orchestra.
The project is made possible, in part, through the University's Arts Initiative Program.
