Youth Mass kick-off meeting is June 14
Eager to share their talents and faith, youth of our parish will soon start a new chapter of service. On the second weekend of each month, young people will lead worship as musicians, lectors, greeters, and many other roles during Masses, alternating between Saturday evening and Sunday morning services each month.
Please encourage your kids to get involved in this exciting new opportunity. Students from kindergarten through college-age are welcome to attend a kick-off event at St. Katharine Drexel from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14. A light lunch will be served. Kids will select songs, write petitions, receive training and discuss readings, with guidance from Fr. Paul, Deacon Randy and Marc Stockert.

The first youth Mass will be at Saturday, July 8, at 4:30 p.m. After that Mass, a special program will be offered for middle school and high school students, featuring Nic Davidson. Nic is an energetic and humorous speaker who is on fire for his faith.

Please

A great big thanks for the diapers and other goodies in the crib at church.  We were able to give those items to Father Jerry to take to Red Lake.
About 20 adults will be going to Red Lake the week of June 19.  We will be working with the children as part of their Summer Adventures program in the mornings and working and having fun with the elderly in the nursing home in the afternoons... among other projects Fr. Jerry might have for us...but our main time will be spent getting to know the residents..young and old... on the rez.  We would love to take donations up there.  Specifically, their needs are:

New or Gently used bath towels and kitchen towels.
New bed sheets...any size
Children's and adults clothing in good shape
Toiletries...any size
Small prizes that can be used as Bingo prizes
School supplies

Thank you for your continued generosity to our sister parish, St. Mary's Mission, on the Red Lake Reservation.  Mostly, THANK YOU for your prayers.

Missionaries, please mark your calendars for a mandatory meeting/retreat  Monday June 12th 6pm-8pm in the Refuge room at St. Stephen's to go over trip details and answer any questions. Also check online or email Mike if you have any questions about the five necessary forms needed for the trip.
We are leaving from St. Stephen's at 9am after 8am Mass on Saturday the 17th.

Fr Paul will concelebrate that Mass and do a Sending Blessing. As for return trip, we are able to leave Saturday Morning, We are planning to drive through on Saturday which is roughly 12 hours, enter in a few bathroom/food stops and probably 13-14 hours total on Saturday the 24th, so an estimated return time would just be SATURDAY EVENING/NIGHT.

Using Scrip is Easy . . . and it Helps SKD
All of us do some shopping. Why not do it with Scrip cards? Many of the places we shop have scrip cards available. There are even hotels, airlines, cruises and car rental cards available for your travels. You can order your cards at the Scrip Table after our 4:30 mass and between our 9:00 and 11:00 masses. Cards are ordered each week and are available for pick up the following weekend. Shopping with scrip does not cost you anything extra. You simply pay the face value for the scrip card. SKD purchases he cards at a discount and that is how the parish can generate a little extra revenue to support our ministries. We do stock cards for some local merchants - Coborn's, County Market, Cub, Bill's and Green Valley Nursery. You can also set up an online account and get electronic scrip cards instantly or reload scrip cards you purchased earlier. If you have any questions or want to know more about how you can use scrip and benefit the parish, stop by the Scrip Table in the hospitality room.
