Greetings!

Do Dreams and Visions still Occur?

IT'S WORTH CONSIDERING

For years, I was taught that dreams and visions were restricted to the Old Testament. Apparently, God never got that memo. More and more, He is using them to draw Muslims from Indonesia to Morocco to Himself. The Spirit of God is using both dreams and visions to reach those who could not be reached by any other means.

A CBN article tells how God revealed Himself to a Muslim named Ali while on a pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). "Of course when I went to Mecca," Ali says, "I was going there in order to pay homage to the Kaaba and to fulfill the requirements in Islam." It was a spiritual journey all right, but not like he expected. "That night I saw Jesus in a dream" Ali explained. "First, Jesus touched my forehead with his finger, and after touching me, He said, 'You belong to me.' And then He touched me above my heart," Ali continued. "'You have been saved; follow me. You belong to me,'" Jesus said. The experience was so moving that he instantly ended his hajj and decided to "follow that voice."

One woman in central Asia told CBN News that a Christian friend challenged her to ask God to speak to her personally. "So I decided to ask Him," she said. "The next day...in my dream I saw Jesus...I decided to come to Him. In the church if you ask how people came to Christ, 80 percent will say, 'I saw Him in a dream.'"

Hazem Farraj hosts "Reflections," a satellite program for Muslims. He said he often gets feedback about dreams and visions. "I had one lady write to me. She said, 'I turned on the television and there you were. The words that were coming out of your mouth were so peaceful I fell asleep,'" Farraj recalled. "She said, 'When I fell asleep I ended up having a vision of Jesus and I saw the Lord,'" he continued. "She said, 'As soon as I looked over I knew that Christ was the sacrifice, the son of the God.'"

AS I SEE IT

It's wonderful when anyone becomes a believer in Jesus, but  when it happens to a Muslim, another dimension comes into play. They find that they have fallen in love with the Jewish Messiah. Consequently, their hatred for the Jews melts away as the scales are removed from their eyes. For the first time in their lives they can see clearly. If only this were the case for every "Muslim background believer," but it's not. Many Arab Christians in Palestine are still holding on to their hatred of "all things Jewish." This is why we should rejoice when the "transformation" is complete and enemies have become brothers.

Those serving in Muslim countries report that more Muslims are coming to Jesus now than in their entire 1400 year history. God will use whatever (and whomever) He chooses to build His Church, and despite the way things are today, the gates of hell will NOT prevail against it.
