A Step-by-Step Process for Evaluating Your Employer Brand

While most companies recognize the importance, and value of, their corporate brand, many often overlook another brand that can have a significant impact on their marketing efforts: the employer brand.

Particularly in service organizations, employees can have a major impact on the customer experience--even when they aren't directly serving customers! How? By talking about the company they work for with friends, relatives, neighbors and others. If these conversations are positive and reflect well on the company and its products and services, that's great.

If not, that's a problem.

Word-of-mouth has a significant impact on consumers' decisions to engage with an organization or to purchase its products and services. Word-of-mouth from employees is particularly impactful because they are considered to be in the know. That's why it's so important to evaluate and strengthen your employer brand in the same manner that you manage your organization or product/service brand.

How strong is your employer brand? Perhaps even more important is how aligned your employer brand is with your company, product or service brand. If you don't know, it's time to take some steps to find out.

Since the advent of email, it's no longer necessary to spend money on fancy paper invitations and the associated postage. However, that doesn't mean style and etiquette are thrown out the window with a slightly less formal medium.

Whether your target audience is potential employees, business partners or customers, crafting an effective email invitation is an art.

Here are some best practices to help you create compelling copy for email invitations.

While it's easy, in hindsight, to be critical of the blunders that even the most powerful organizations in the world fall prey to, it's important to keep in mind how pressure often gets in the way of making a thoroughly thought-out decision.

Sometimes, of course, the pace of change prevents the level of research and analysis that some might feel most comfortable with. Business leaders need to have sound instincts for making snap decisions that could have enormous implications for the business, its shareholders, its employees and its customers.

Here are three ways to help find the right balance between intuition and thoughtful decision to boost the odds that you're more often right, than wrong.
