Native Plant Sale
Extravaganza
on your calendar!

We will have lots of California Natives, perfect for planting this Fall.

Come early for the best selection of California Native ornamental grasses, trees, shrubs, and perennials. Among these are beautiful Manzanitas, Bee-attracting Sages and hardy Succulents.

Looking for a super pollinator friendly drought tolerant shrub? We have 4" Eriogonum Grande Rubescens that will become grand plants indeed.  And, if you have shady spots in need of adornment, take a look at our Heuchera Maximas.

Garden Talks :11:00 am and 2:00 pm - Learn about the "Top 10 plants for a Native Plant Garden."

Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to help you select native plants for your garden.

Proceeds of this plant sale support Markham Nature Park and Arboretum.

Call our office at 681-2968 or visit the 'Bringing Back the Natives' web site for more information.

The Markham Nursery has plants to satisfy the beginning gardener, as well as unusual plants to delight  the plant collector.

While the emphasis of this sale is on native Californian plants, be sure to take a look at what else is growing in the nursery.

For instance, we have an interesting Edible from our Volunteer Chet Heyer. It is Murraya Koenigii AKA 'Curry Leaf Plant'.

Curry Leaf Plant

Famous for its various nutrition and heath benefits as well as flavoring, it is a staple of South Asian cuisine. It is also difficult to get. It is a great container plant (though it requires some frost protection when young), and can be in the ground when older, so long as it is a warmer spot. Well worth it for those who like interesting edibles!

See you at the sale!
