The sales may have finished but we're still open and have plenty of great plants for your garden.

We'll be here every Tuesday from 9 till noon but may call it quits early if the weather turns nasty - we draw the line at numb fingers and blue complexions.

If in doubt feel free to contact us at (925) 681-2968.

Is that it for the year?

Not quite. Fall weather starts us on our transition from selling plants to growing more for the 2013 season. The warm days, cool nights and higher humidity are perfect for germinating our hard to find plants such as Restios and numerous Proteaceae.

Our native Dudleyas, Eriogonums (Buckwheats) and Lewisias also start to germinate giving us crossed eyes and RSI as we spend what seems like an eternity picking them apart and potting them up into individual containers.

Fall is also a great time to propagate some of our flowering shrubs from our international garden such as Manzanita, Grevilleas and Banksias.

Our raised veggie beds have a bumper crop going at the moment. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to pop in and see what you can do with some cow fence, felt and dirt.

As the weather starts to turn from "Oh I love this Fall weather" to "Crap - My feet have gone numb", we'll start to spend less time in the nursery and more in the international garden. This is where we plant and experiment with the species we sell at the nursery. If it doesn't work out here, we won't sell it to you.

Thanks for your continued support and feedback and we'll look forward to seeing you soon at Markham.
