Greetings! 
Last month we held our second of four Reiki Clinic - A Healing Sanctuary for the general public for 2015.  With 6 healing tables, 27 Reiki practitioners, Level I student to Reiki Master-Teacher Level, we had a dynamic evening of energy work, mentoring, forming new relationships and 58 persons received free Reiki sessions in a 3 hour period!  The Oceanfront DoubleTree by Hilton was our host for the event as has been for the past several years.  Thank you Mark Garcia and staff at DoubleTree! Our next event is scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd.

Our Reiki Certificate Training courses graduated 17new practitioners in Level I. Level II and Level III-Master Reiki and hosted several returning students to audit the class. If you have been feeling a little detached from your Reiki skillset, auditing a class you have taken previously is a great way to re-engage. Stop by or call the office for details - auditing is available to a limited seating for a minimal administrative fee.

We are busy working on some new educational offerings, so stay tuned and we'll let you know when they are open for registration.  In the meantime, ask us about our weekly Energy Management / Mentoring Group offerings.  We currently are conducting 5 different groups - 2 new ones this year, and are building toward a 6th. We would love to host a mens group, so men forward your thoughts on this with your availability if you are interested in this potential (info@centerva.com).

Don't forget the next Reiki I and Reiki II classes are registering now.  Everyone must pre-register however, $50 deposit will hold your seat. Those interested in the Reiki III/Master training may apply for admission via this email link  Apply for RM.

The ever popular monthly moon meditations are a great opportunity to practice that deeper connection to Self through meditation and spiritual awareness.  The format is an informal group setting, and friends and family often come together for an easy, relaxing hour and leave with new insight. VA researchers are conducting studies to determine which CAM therapies are truly effective, and, for which conditions and populations they work. Because there have not been many rigorous studies performed on energy therapies (includes Reiki) in a manner that can be replicated, our modality is currently not advancing in use in VA health care programs.  However, some related therapies that we do participate with such as Meditation and Yoga, have garnered favorable results and are being used. 

In VA, CAM is most commonly used to help Veterans manage stress, or to promote general wellness. It is also often used to treat posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, back pain, headache, arthritis, fibromyalgia (long-term pain throughout the body), and substance abuse.
