Well it's harvest time. Time to harvest all the abundance of knowledge, wisdom and experience we have received this summer.  Harvest marks the end of a cycle of growing when the fruits of your labor are gathered up and celebrated. It is a time for gathering together to "party", celebrating this abundance of knowledge and wisdom, accomplishments and revelations.

 

This period also reminds us to prepare for the colder months, perhaps with slowing down in the evenings. In anticipation of the typical down times of winter, now is an opportunity to build some reflective activities into your routine.  Silent mornings over a cup of hot tea with your best friend, your journal, leisurely walks in the park, evening meditations are all ways to go within and nurture what is developing.

 

Clearing and shoring up fits with the progress of Fall.  Consider, gathering around a bonfire, burning old bills and unneeded papers and releasing thoughts, feelings and emotions that no longer serve you. Take time to notice the crisp air and remember that time circles, problems fade or change no matter how large they appear now.

 

Enjoy watching nature dance between warm and cool, calm and hectic, as she prepares for her winter slumber.  Mimic her antics with social and silent periods, intent and playful times as you build toward your next cycle and phase.

Earthing Meditation
Being Grounded in this physical world is an important part of having balance.  It tethers us to the physical world, much like the roots of a large tree, securing us so that we may bend and sway with the winds of change, or stand firm through a tempest.  We can fly higher, spiritually and intuitively when we are firmly grounded.  Try this Earthing Meditation to ground yourself
  • Visualize the invisible, unbreakable magnetic cord that connects you to the Earth.  This cord begins at the base of the spine.
  • Ask and feel your hand and feet chakras open to a comfortable size.
  • Imagine the color of Earth's energy being drawn up through your feet, calves, knees, lower and upper thighs, continuing up to your first chakra - Root Chakra .
  •  Imagine this color moving back down through your earthing cord.
  • Stay here for 2+ minutes ~ YOU ARE GROUNDED.
  • Ask your energy to return to its natural flow to end the meditative exercise
