Greetings,
Two bits of news, one an announcement for Kent Krueger, the other a correction to the April 10 AAUW Scholarship lunch. Rob and I visited the Desert Botanical Garden early this morning to check on the wild flowers. Rob took this photo of a palo verde coming into bloom. So beautiful... And the orange blossoms are just beginning to scent the air around The Pen. It's worth a visit just for that. Jackie's party last night for her 10th Maisie Dobbs was a joy. And somehow all the cookies got gobbled up! See it Here Buy It Here. Keep US Here. Thank you for your continued support Barbara and The Poisoned Pen Staff |

in time for our book launch tonight for William Kent Krueger
|
TUESDAY MARCH 26 7:00 PM Launch Party
William Kent Krueger signs Ordinary Grace (Atria $25)
An April Indie Next Pick by independent booksellers across the country
Kent has signed every one of his novels at The Poisoned Pen. We are thrilled he and his publisher picked us to launch a very special new fiction, a standalone he cherishes.
We've ordered a cake and I'm pulling galleys for a couple of forthcoming novels to give away. Please join us at 7 PM tonight!
"Death visits small-town New Bremen, Minnesota, in 1961 and particularly touches 13-year-old Frank Drum and his family. Frank, his Methodist minister father, his "fed up with God" mother, his Julliard-bound older sister, and his inseparable, perceptive, but stuttering 10-year-old brother endure a summer of repeated tragedy that tests their faith and their relationships, both within their family and within the community. Krueger, the author of Cork O'Connor series, expertly weaves this tale of mystery as he always does, but also illuminates characters as never before. I can't wait to share this amazing book."
"A resonant tale of fury, guilt, and redemption."
-Publishers Weekly
"This is a book that makes the reader feel better just by having been exposed to the delights of the story. It will stay with you for quite some time."
-The Huffington Post
