Bring in Joy through Spring Cleaning Inside and Out

This is the time of Spring cleaning where we can rid of all the "junk" we have in our homes, as in our lives, and make room for the new, fresh things that our coming our way. This can give us all a sense of renewal in our homes, gardens, the environment around us and ourselves. It also encourages us to do our own internal house cleaning, to release unwanted habits and behavior and make way for our positive ones to grow and blossom.

Ruth Ross author of Prospering Woman,  states the prosperity law of
releasing: "We must get rid of what we don't want to make room for what we do want." For me in addition to cleaning, this has meant going through my boxes that contain memories and emptying all those drawers of accumulated stuff. What I learned during this process of shedding and releasing was to honor my past achievements, let go of what doesn't serve me anymore, and replace it with something special that meets my current needs, so that I can move in the present flow of life.

One of the things that most of us want to bring in is the feeling of joy. Becoming a joyful person isn't something that happens overnight. It comes from being grounded in the present moment and having a mindset of gratitude and openness to what is joyful in our lives. We can also increase our joy by focusing on the words themselves when we pray and say them with enthusiasm and joy.

It has taken me some time to realize how important each word is that we use and how those words create thoughts that shape our reality. Joy is a natural state for some, but for most of us it is an acquired "taste." As we practice joy and appreciate the beauty around us, we begin to live it.

There is beauty in the transition from winter to spring. The buds begin to bloom, the weather becomes warmer and we can feel the warmth of the sun with longer daylight around us, which helps our mood and attitude.  Cleaning out the old to make way for the new gives us additional opportunity to birth new ideas and create new beginnings and bring more joy into our lives.
