How Vacations Help Us Succeed

According to the American Heritage Dictionaries on answers.com, three definitions of vacation are listed: "A period of time devoted to pleasure, rest, or relaxation, especially one with pay granted to an employee. A holiday. A fixed period of holidays, especially one during which a school, court, or business suspends activities."

July and the summer months are the perfect time to take the right vacation to reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. Vacations can help you rejuvenate yourself so that when you get back to your work and home life, you have renewed energy and often a new and fresh perspective. The benefits you gain from vacations go much deeper than fun in the sun, good restaurants, entertainment and shopping. Vacations really gives you the opportunity to "vacate" from where you were and enter a new world.

For those of you who view vacations as frivolous or self-indulgent, I say, think again. Remember when you keep driving yourself, eventually our emotional or physical health breaks down.

Vacations give you a totally different point of view because you are in a totally different environment. As you get away and can view things from a distance, you can see situations in a different light.

It is important to choose your vacations wisely. To seek different experiences to meet your needs at the time. When you need more stimulation and activity, you may choose a more active vacation. When you need rest and healing, you may choose a more relaxing slower paced experience.

The distance and cost of the vacation do not need to be major factors. You can get the results you want by traveling 20 miles away as much as 2000 miles away. It's the quality of the vacation, the environment that is chosen, and the resolution you have to leave our cares and worries at home, so that you can really relax, rejuvenate, restore and revive your hopes and dreams.

When you go on a vacation especially with family there can be expectations that are not met which causes disappointment, stress and then defeats the purpose of the vacation. In order to have a gratifying vacation, remember to rest, relax and refuel with an open mind and open expectations.

July and the summer months are the perfect time to take the right vacation to reconnect with yourself and your loved ones.

Enjoy your summer vacation.

Sincerely,

Patricia

Change Your Mind, Change Your Brain a new book
by Anne Marie Ludovici

Most books tell you what you need to do to change your health behavior. Change Your Mind, Change Your Health: 7 Ways To Harness The Power Of Your Brain To Achieve True Well- Being, teaches you how to actually initiate change and sustain the change over time. Based on the TTM method of psychotherapy, and known to psychologists and medical professionals worldwide, Ludovici now makes this information available to the general public with proven, evidence-based behavioral tools for "achieving a self-assured and sustainable sense of health and well-being in the face of all obstacles or challenges."  A daring promise, to be sure, considering that right now only 6% of U.S. adults follow public health recommendations about physical activity, tobacco use, alcohol consumption, fruit and vegetable consumption, and dietary fat intake. Change Your Mind, Change Your Health reveals how monitoring and changing your thoughts can change your health, the relationship between self-confidence and mastery-and how to gain both and how to leverage the powerful strategies from sports psychology to you charged and ready for action.

Change Your Mind, Change Your Health is your guide to a happier, healthier life. Pick up your copy of Change Your Mind, Change Your Health today at bookstores, or at www.amazon.com or at www.Amlcchange.com  and learn Annie's 7 insider secrets will help you change from the inside out
