Beginning next Wednesday May 7th from 7-9pm, Patricia Raskin, founder and host of POSITIVE DATING, on 630WPRO will record her weekly program, live, at the Blue Grotto restaurant on Historic Federal Hill in Providence, RI. The show will embark on its new form using live interaction with the audience and local and regional experts in the dating and relationship world.  In addition to watching and participating in the show, attendees will also be have the opportunity to mingle with like minded singles in a elegant and comfortable atmosphere. The event is free and will include complimentary appetizers and valet parking. The Blue Grotto is a RI institution offering a classic Italian dining experience, with a modern interpretation.

Raskin stated, "I'm excited about bringing the show to a live audience, especially at the Blue Grotto, a premier restaurant on Atwells Ave in the heart of Federal Hill. I think it can be awkward to initiate conversations at singles events, and this format gives singles the opportunity to come to a weekly meet and greet and watch the Positive Dating show live and ask questions live on the air, or submit them in writing.  The interaction is exciting, and gives a common activity for everyone to engage in and talk about"

Dina D'Alfonso, manager at Blue Grotto, said, "We are thrilled to host this new interactive format to Positive Dating and WPRO. We are delighted to host these weekly get-togethers for people in our comfortable and elegant atmosphere here. In addition to complementary valet parking and appetizers, "Positive Dating" attendees are also invited to stay on after the show for cocktails or dinner. All of us here at Blue Grotto are excited to offer this one of a kind show to Providence, making our historic restaurant not only their weekly spot, but a chosen weekend location for couples, and families, as well. Come relax, enjoy, and let us delight your senses."

Joe Lembo, Director of Sales Cumulus Media - Providence says, "The dating show is a great concept for all listeners and we believe in Patricia's ability to bring experts, co-hosts and the audience together to provide a dynamic, entertaining and inspiring program to News Talk 630 and 99-7FM WPRO"

Patricia is joined by Laurie Morgan, co-producer; Shelby Rae, technical producer; Nancy Thomas, president of Tapestry Communications, public relations advisor; and Phil Ayoub and Donnie Bennett, who are rotating co-hosts.

Prophet Share - Seasoned Professionals Sharing Trade Secrets
Prophet Share, Inc., formerly known as the RI Small Business Recovery Program, has emerged as an excellent example of what has become internationally known as "a sharing community".  In simple terms, "a sharing community" removes duplication that doesn't add value and concentrates on things that do add value. Through participation in Prophet Share, talented business owners and trainers (prophets) no longer have to individually own projection, video and recording equipment.  Nor do they have to rent expensive classroom or hotel space in order to share their talent and experience with their peers. As the result of this "penny-pinching" sharing approach, Profit Share, Inc. will be able to bring high-quality business training to the Rhode Island entrepreneurial community on a meager budget of less than $25,000 annually. In the past thirty two months, the Recovery Program provided peer-to-peer training to over 7,000 business owners and entrepreneurs.  With the collaborative efforts of experienced business leaders and teachers, Prophet Share, Inc. is expected to greatly add to that number.

To register for any of the free seminars below, please go to www.prophetshareri.com/events.  Any questions, please call Dave Nash at 401-447-8000.   All events will be held at the Centerville Seminar Center, 875 Centerville Rd, Warwick, RI - Building 2, Suite 5.

Positively Speaking
patriciasittingThis is from my book, Pathfinding: Seven Principles for Positive Living in my chapter and fourth principle, Honor Your Innate Gifts, Talents and Abilities

Everyone has talent. I have never met a person who does not have some kind of talent, even if it wasn't apparent to them. Some people are certainly more gifted than others in certain areas. One person's talent may lie in singing, while another individual is an amazing sculptor.

Other people are talented in the area of medicine, mathematics, chemistry or science. Some people can out-jump, out-run, out-climb and out-smart others.

All of us have special gifts, but some of us discount them or take them for granted for any number of reasons.

Others, like Erma Bombeck, appreciate their talents and usenthem. "When I stand before God at the end of my life," she says, "I hope I won't have a single bit of talent left and will say, 'God, I used everything you gave me.'"

Joan Mills said something very similar. She said, "I'd gone through my life believing in the strength and competence of others; never in my own. Now, dazzled, I've discovered that my capacities are real. It is like finding a fortune in the lining of an old coat."

One way you can discover your innate abilities is to listen to what people say about you, how they compliment you. For example, suppose someone says to you, "Oh, you are such a great writer" or "I really value you as a friend," or, "You work so well with people, you must be a people person." Pay attention to what people tell you, especially when they compliment you.

I have found in my own life that it is important to recognize, accept, use and build on my talents. People tell me I am a strong networker, catalyst, motivator and interviewer.

When I question myself or wonder how effective I have been, I think of the inspiring words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: "If a person sweeps streets for a living, he should sweep them as Michelangelo painted, as Beethoven composed, as Shakespeare wrote."

I believe we are talented because we work at it. Dan Millman said in his book, No Ordinary Moments, that "natural talent is overrated...The successful professionals I know in the fields of athletics, acting, law, medicine and business attribute their success more to hard work than to natural talent."

I believe that raw talent coupled with hard work is an unstoppable combination. I also believe that when you consistently honor your innate gifts, talents and abilities you
will meet with success beyond your wildest dreams.

Sincerely,

Patricia
