Pat Wayne will leave her post this month as Deputy Director of Arts Orange County to become Program Director and the first staff member of CREATE CA (Core Reforms Engaging Arts to Educate), a statewide coalition of agencies, organizations and individuals partnering on an education reform movement that views arts education as an essential part of the solution to the problems facing California schools.
"Pat has devoted ten years of her career to Arts Orange County, first as Director of Programs and Arts Education, then as Deputy Director," commented ArtsOC Executive Director Richard Stein. "While she has been involved in almost every aspect of our organization's operations, her true passion has always been the work she has done for us in arts education. This new opportunity enables her to take that work to a new, statewide level. She will continue to impact our field in Orange County-just in a new way. We wish her much success!"
"Pat Wayne brings a wealth of experience and expertise to CREATE CA," said Sarah Anderberg, Chair of the CREATE CA Leadership Council. "We are delighted that she is joining our effort and we look forward to deepening and broadening our collaborative work with arts, business, and education partners."
"In my ten years at Arts Orange County, some of the most rewarding work has been in the field of arts education in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education," said Pat Wayne. "Now, I am honored for the opportunity to pursue my passion for equitable, meaningful arts education for every student in our state - and to accomplish that through meaningful collaboration with so many of my colleagues. I truly look forward to what we will accomplish as a team."
