ArtsOC Board Leadership Transition

Darrel D. Anderson (above right), has served as President of the Arts Orange County Board of Directors since 2006, and has now been succeeded in that role by Rick M. Smetanka (above left). Anderson, who is active in serving on the Boards of a number of community organizations (including Orange County Museum of Art and Philharmonic Society of Orange County), remains a member of the ArtsOC Board. Smetanka is Partner-in-Charge, Audit & Business Advisory Services Group at Haskell & White LLP, and has served on the ArtsOC Board since 2010. ArtsOC Launches 15th Arts Education Alliance in OC |

Arts Orange County recently launched its 15th Local Arts Education Alliance (in La Habra). Arts Orange County plays a leadership role in advocating for quality, equity and access of standards based, comprehensive arts education in the county's K-12 schools.
Under the mentorship of Arts OC and in partnership with the California Alliance for Arts Education and The Boeing Company, local alliances are being operated in most of Orange County's school districts to support each district's strategic arts plan and to insure that every student has access to a quality, standards-based arts education.
