OC Register Donating Millions in Advertising to Nonprofits |
New Orange County Register owner and publisher Aaron Kushner announced at National Philanthropy Day on November 15 that the paper would donate $12.4 million in free advertising to charitable organizations. OC's Hunger Artists Theatre Shuts its Doors After 16 Years |
One of the most esteemed alternative theatre companies in Orange County has announced it is closing. Hunger Artists Theatre, formed in 1996 by graduates of Orange Coast College, first performed in Costa Mesa, then moved to Santa Ana, and finally settled in Fullerton. A history of the company appears on its website, along with the names of the many theatre artists who were members of its company throughout the years. |
National Latino Theatre Alliance Meets in OC |
Southern California playwrights, directors, actors, producers and educators gathered for a regional meeting of the newly-formed National Latino Theatre Alliance in South Coast Repertory's Nicholas Studio on November 11. The gathering was hosted by Breath of Fire Latina Theatre Ensemble of Santa Ana and co-sponsored by Arts Orange County. |
TEDxOrangeCoast Women is taking place on Saturday December 1st, 2012 from 9:00am-4:30pm, held at Experian in Costa Mesa. TEDx OrangeCoast Women is an opportunity to spend the day with a group of genuine, like-minded women in Orange County who seek to be inspired, encouraged, and energized.

METROPOLITAN OPERA FINALS
OC Register's classical music critic writes: "An Orange County native won a prestigious singing competition this week and is headed to the Metropolitan Opera. Efraín Solís of Santa Ana took top honors on Sunday at the Western Regional Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in Los Angeles.
