PROJECT LINUS

Project Linus and Fleece Collection Drive

 What is It?

Project Linus is an organization dedicated to providing love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."

The Event

Ironwood Ridge is excited to be a team of "blanketeers" for a day. On Saturday, April 11th from 8 AM - 12 PM in the IRHS cafeteria, students, teachers, parents, and community members are encouraged to come help make blankets to benefit Project Linus. Absolutely no sewing or knitting skills are required; we will be using a template that requires cutting and tying only. Everyone is invited!

Fleece Drive

The IRHS Key Club is hosting a fleece drive up until the event on April 11th. Collection boxes are located in the front office and in Ms. Wenzel's room (Room A306). It is recommended that each blanket be made from 1 yards of fleece, so Key Club suggests purchasing 4 yards of fleece at a time in order to make three blankets from each donation. Fleece can be any color, style, and brand (even holiday designs are fine since the blankets may be distributed at a later date). Cash donations will be accepted in Ms. Wenzel's room (Room A306) only.

WE NEED DONATIONS TO MAKE THIS EVENT SUCCESSFUL, SO PLEASE CONSIDER CONTRIBUTING!
