Upcoming NPO Event

The Nighthawk Parent Organization is co-sponsoring a community presentation of "Race to Nowhere" on February 9 at 6:00pm in the Auditorium.

We will be having our regular quarterly business meeting at 5:30 for anyone who is interested in attending.

We will have a panel of professionals to discuss the video and how it impacts our students and our community.  Please join us.  Check out the flyer below.  To view their  website.  RACE TO NOWHERE

LOOKING FOR SPONSORS:

We are looking for sponsors to help cover the costs of the presentation, the copying and advertising for the event.  If you are interested in donating, please contact npoirhs@gmail.com.  Companies and families that donate at least $50 will be recognized the night of the event and in both CDO and IRHS parent weekly emails.

Is your child interested in getting a head start on college and careers?  The Pima County Joint Technical Education District (JTED) provides free career and technical education to sophomore, junior and senior level high school students.  Students may attend JTED classes at one of the Central Campuses (the closest campus to IRHS is on River and Shannon).  Students who enroll in JTED programs earn high school credit, industry certifications and/or state licensure.

Some programs offered are:

  • Aviation Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Fire Services
  • Law, Public Safety & Security
  • Medical Assisting
  • Veterinary Assisting

Please visit:  www.pima.jted.org for more information

If your student would like to apply for a JTED program please complete an application on-line at www.pima.jted.org. Online enrollment begins Jan. 20.   If you need more information or have questions, please contact Leah Evans at levans@amphi.com or (520) 696-3921.

JTED will be holding a program showcase for high school age students and their families to learn more about the district's free career and technical education programs.  The showcase will be held Saturday, Jan. 24th at the JTED Master Pieces campus, located at 2855 W. Master Pieces Drive.  Interested students may preview two programs of their choice at either 9am, 10:45am, or 1pm.  No RSVP is necessary to participate.  Visit pimajted.org or call (520) 352-5833 for more information.

Also, mark February 12th on your calendar from 3:30-7pm for Priority Registration at the Central JTED Campus on River and Shannon.  It is imperative that you and your student attend this Priority Registration to ensure your child's spot.

Important Financial Aid Information for

Parents of Seniors:

It's time to complete your FAFSA!

College Goal FAFSA (previously College Goal Sunday) provides information and FREE professional assistance to students and families seeking college financial aid. High school seniors who are planning to enter college this year can get free help to complete the FAFSA, which is the first critical step in applying for financial aid. College Goal FAFSA will be held on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8 from 2:00-4:00 pm.

For locations and information regarding what to bring with you, please visit their website at www.collegegoal.az.gov/college-goal-fafsa

When going online to complete the FAFSA, please ensure that you are on the correct site:     www.fafsa.ed.gov
(sites like fafsa.com and fafsa.org are not the official site and they will charge you to complete the form; please remember, the first F in FAFSA stands for Free!). Please also remember that the deadline for filing your FAFSA (and your U of A or ASU application) in order to be considered for the Arizona Assurance (U of A) or the Obama Scholars (ASU) program is March 1.

Students who file their FAFSA, or complete their application, after this deadline will not be considered for either of these programs.

ASVAB-Saturday, January 31, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. FREE!

The free Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Vocation Battery exam will be given on Saturday, January 31 at 8:30 a.m. in the Guidance Classroom

The ASVAB, as it is commonly known is a career assessment tool that serves at least two purposes: The results help determine what you are best qualified to do in military service. Second, the test results give excellent career diagnostic feedback.
