Spirit Society Parent Reps

Theresa Chavez- sponsor of the Spirit Society is looking for parents of student who are involved in all teams, all art and music programs, and a parent who is willing to help planning appreciation for academic achievements. We want to show respect, love and appreciation for all our Nighthawk athletes, artists, and scholars. Please contact npoirhs@gmail.com if you are interested and we will give your info to Dr. Chavez.

For Your Information.

IRHS has a service dog attending school with one of our students every day at IRHS. The service dog is a working dog and is attending school in order to assist one of our students.

Please do not pet the dog, approach the dog, talk to the dog, feed the dog, or do anything that would distract the dog from his job which is to take care of one of

our fellow nighthawks. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

~Ms. Burnett, IRHS Principal

Going to the Nighthawk/Dorado Varsity football game Friday?

Support our community with new sock donation

Friday, both IRHS and CDO StuGos will be hosting a joint community service effort for the football game (Home against CDO, 7pm).

We will be collecting packages of socks for kids (boys socks are needed more than girls right now) in exchange for a T-shirt. All of the socks will be donated to the Amphi Foundation and will go to boys and girls in our district that need them.

For all they do....

StuGo, along with Club Kindness, would like to recognize one or two staff members each month for their kindness.  For the month of September, we would like to recognize:

  • Mrs. Gordon for being a genuine and attentive listener and for always being happy and nice to the students. She sees over 600 students a day and is always helpful to everyone!
  • Mrs. Kane. "Beautiful things don't ask for attention" and this applies perfectly to her. She always makes a special effort to help all of her students and is the first to lend her books out and doesn't get mad if it takes awhile to return them.

These ladies are just 2 examples of the kindness we have on the IRHS staff!!

Thank you!

  Quack for Kindness Award
Club Kindness will be awarding weekly kindness ducks to students who have demonstrated kindness at IRHS. Student Quack Award winners will be recognized on the Friday school announcements each week.

The IRHS Kindness Duck award winners for this week are:

  • A QUACK to all the students who ride their bike to school.  Mother Earth, Polar Bears, and Future Generations are grateful. Thank you from Ms. Theodore and Club Green.
  • Josh Baca- for making everyone around him happy and being a hard working student
  • Amanda Bradley and Rachel Kester - for positive attitudes, leadership, and responsibility as co-captains of the swim team.
  • Josh Davis - for being one of the nicest guys on campus

Remember Nighthawks -- No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Dear families and friends of Amphitheater students,

Over the last 6 years, Amphitheater Public Schools has faced over $47 million in budget cuts. On November 4th, you have the opportunity to vote YES to renew your investment in the school programs vital to our children. Your YES vote would continue the follow critical benefits to the students of Amphi:

  •  Reduction and maintenance of class size in core classes
  •  Expansion of art, music and physical education programs in elementary schools
  •  Increased middle and high schools electives and advanced placement courses
  •  Year-round intervention programs for struggling learners
  •  Increased support of school facilities and technology equipment
    • Attraction and retention of qualified staff

How you can help

Talk to your neighbors and friends

This year's ballot will be filled with local, state and national elections. Many people may pass by the propositions if they don't know their critical importance. We encourage you to speak with your neighbors and friends and educate them on this important ballot measure.

We are also recruiting parents to make phone calls to encourage voters to support the Amphi Override. If you sign up, you will receive a list of up to 20 names and numbers and we just ask that you make the calls within a week of receiving the names. Calls will start in October. Please email leapahead2014@gmail.com to sign up.
Invite us to speak at your Parent/Teacher Organization Meeting

We would be happy to come and explain how the override directly benefits your school and student. Hear how this override assists your student to achieve their best. Please email us at leapahead2014@gmail.com so that we can reserve the date and time of your meeting.

Email this letter to the families at your school

Please forward this email to the families at your school to inform them of this very important ballot initiative.

If you have questions, would like to join our committee or help in any other way, please email us at leapahead2014@gmail.com.
