Staunton - The Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA) presented Ann Blair Miller, Director of Project Management, Roanoke Regional Partnership, with the 2015 Cardinal Award at the VEDA Annual Meeting, earlier this month in Staunton. 
"Throughout her career, Ann Blair has been a beacon for professionalism in the field," said Jay Brenchick (Roanoke County Economic Development) in his nomination of Miller. "Ann Blair is a respected leader in Virginia economic development with contacts throughout the state in both public and private industry, who speak highly of her character and contributions. She is an excellent representative of the profession and, daily, she displays an unmatched commitment to promoting the Roanoke region and the state of Virginia."
In recognition of her professionalism and unique insights Ann Blair was selected to serve on Governor McAuliffe's Transition Team for Commerce and Trade in 2013. Most recently she has served on the Virginia Energy Council, providing unique professional insight as the state develops a comprehensive energy strategy. Ann Blair has serve on numerous committees for and as president of the Virginia Economic Developers Association. She is a graduate of Radford University; the Virginia Institute for Economic Development; the University of Oklahoma, Economic Development Institute (EDI); and has completed course work from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and the University of Shopping Centers, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
The Cardinal Award is the most prestigious award bestowed by VEDA to deserving members. The award recognizes leadership in the field of economic development, outstanding professional accomplishments, and exceptional service to the organization.  Nominations are open in early summer each year to VEDA past or current members. The nominator must be a member of the association.
