BODY SENSE WELL-BEING

As summer comes to its end and we look towards a fuller schedule of work and activity, we increase the demands we place on ourselves. So, it is essential that we nurture our well-being. Sometimes that can be as simple as taking a moment to slow down and pause amidst the busyness of city living, paying attention to how we are doing what we are doing.

Research is showing that as much as we need cardiovascular exercise for continued health and well-being, we also need to develop our "body-sense." Alan Fogel's article in Psychology Today points out the health benefits of integrating exercise with mindfulness.

We invite you to register now for one of our Fall series of Awareness Through Movement® classes! Our classes will give you the opportunity to reduce stress by learning to develop your body-sense. May this coming season invite more mindful interaction with ourselves - and with others.

The FLC Community Welcomes Two New Faculty Members
Madeline Rogers is a New York based writer, editor, and museum curator whose explorations of the Feldenkrais Method® began 25 years ago. The richness and power of the work - which she originally undertook to treat crippling back pain - inspired her to study it more seriously. Madeline will be teaching the Thursday 7pm ATM® class this year.

Doron Tadmor has been a Feldenkrais Practitioner since 2005. Doron's personal journey with the Feldenkrais Method started in 1995 while he was searching for ways to reduce chronic pain. His experience during a Functional Integration® lesson not only helped him recover quickly, but also introduced him to a powerful process that started during that lesson and just kept going. Doron will be teaching the Wednesday 12:30pm ATM class.

We are so pleased that Madeline and Doron have joined the rest of our experienced faculty, all of whom look forward to seeing you at an Awareness Through Movement class this fall!
