All LINES UPDATE MARCH 13, 2015
Claim Reminder in Warmer Weather
Arbella Insurance Group - Here for good

As the snow continues to dissipate and the days are getting longer we are slowly returning to normalcy here in New England. The recent slow melt and lack of significant precipitation has resulted in a best case scenario as it pertains to ice dams. The icicles have all but disappeared and we are starting to see roofs clear of snow. In the past couple of days, we have been contacted by a number of agents and customers inquiring about Arbella's policy surrounding the application of homeowner deductibles and multiple occurrences.

Each claim is evaluated on case by case basis, consistent with the terms and provisions of the policy. As specifically relates a claim arising from ice damming, with resultant water damage, Arbella considers this a continuous event and will handle as one claim, applying one deductible to the loss. There is no need to report a subsequent claim for additional or supplemental interior water damage. Simply notify the previously assigned claim professional to discuss the additional issues in greater detail.

As always, please feel free to contact your Arbella claim professional with any questions or concerns.

TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF A CLAIM

We would also take this opportunity to remind you that one of the most effective ways you can check on the status of a claim is by accessing the Agent Portal via Arbella Connect. You can search by claim number, or insured name, and secure the current status; which is updated nightly.

TO REPORT A LOSS

Our loss reporting procedures remain unchanged. New losses can be reported via telephone, on-line, fax or mail. We encourage utilization of on-line claim reporting as telephone call volume is heightened significantly following storms; resulting in long wait times. Arbella customers who have registered with MyArbella can also report claims through this portal.

All claims received are triaged and assigned immediately to a claim professional that will contact the customer and discuss the next steps in the claim process. Those claims meeting severity criteria will be processed through our existing 24/7/365 escalation protocol.
