Now that summer has unofficially kicked off, the concern for water safety increases. It is extremely important that children of all ages learn the important survival skill of swimming. Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages one to fourteen years old. Several skills, such as treading water or floating, can help save a life.
Our students are taught water safety skills first and foremost. Summer registration starts this week, so now is a great time to add a swim lesson to your child's routine. The Rye Y's summer swim program includes classes for preschool age through teens, including an intensive program for beginners. Our students learn life-saving skills, while also having fun! Click here for details about our summer classes.
