Spotlight on our Centennial
By Gregg Howells, Executive Director
Celebrate the Y in YOU!
After two years of planning and anticipation, the Rye Y kicked off our Centennial year on January 1. Nine months in, we can look back and say "it's been quite a year so far!"
We've celebrated our birthday with family events such as the Harlem Ambassadors game and a Community Scavenger Hunt. We got members and staff moving with a 100-day step challenge. We honored our history with a mural-sized timeline, now hanging in the Y's second floor hallway. And we launched a special Centennial campaign to raise $2-$3 million to ensure that the Y continues to meet the needs of our community today, tomorrow and for the next 100 years. I'm pleased to report that we have raised over $1.9 million of our goal!
This month we cap off our Centennial celebration with an elegant and fun-filled Gala that will feature cocktails, a seated dinner, silent and live auctions and entertainment by comedian, actor and author Paul Reiser. I hope you'll join us for this exciting event. For more information about the Gala or the Centennial Campaign, contact Sally Wright at sally@ryeymca.org or 967-6363, ext. 202.
We could not have achieved all that we have over the years without you-our members, our donors and our volunteers. Thank you for bringing us this far, for celebrating with us, and for your investment in our future.
