Rye Y Members Brighten the Halls of a South Bronx School When Stuart Reis joined the Rye YMCA more than 20 years ago, he imagined himself working out in the Fitness Center and taking Tai Chi classes. He never thought he would wind up in the stairwell of a South Bronx school wielding a blue-stained paintbrush.

CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN
In late 2013, the Rye Y quietly launched a special Centennial Campaign to raise $3 million. More than just a rainy day fund, the Rye Y's Centennial Campaign will provide us with the resources to meet the dynamic needs of our community today, tomorrow and for the next 100 years.
We are thrilled to announce that we have raised $1.9 million so far! We are exceedingly grateful to the Y leaders, donors and community members whose vision and hard work have brought us this far. If you would like to know more about our Centennial Campaign, or any of our other upcoming events, contact Sally Wright at ext. 202 or sallywright@ryeymca.org

Spotlight on
Family Programs
By Hillary Southard, Senior Program Director
Your Family is Our Family
Part of what sets a YMCA apart from other fitness centers and gyms is purposeful family programming - providing healthy opportunities to be together. Since joining the Rye Y team in 2013, one of my goals has been to increase what we offer to our family members. You may have heard of the infamous cardboard boat race last March. (Stay tuned for the 2nd annual event coming March 2015!) Additionally, we just rolled out the 2nd season of our Adventure Guides program (for dads and kids) and introduced First Family Fridays.
We also have a plethora of swim time, gym time and exercise classes just for families. If you don't yet have a family membership and want to upgrade, it's the best membership deal you can get at the Rye Y! Remember: here at the Rye Y, we welcome all definitions of family. Stay tuned for even more fun as we move forward and grow with you. If you have any ideas for family programming or events, please email me: hillary@ryeymca.org or stop by my office (located just across from the women's locker room).
