Rye Y Blog: The Rye Y Community, by Gregg Howells I was recently asked to submit a quote answering the question "what is community?" for an exhibit at the Rye Arts Center. Giving Tree
Every year, members of the Rye Y help support our neighboring community-in-need in Port Chester. The Carver Center manages a large community gift-giving drive in which over 600 Port-Chester families, that couldn't afford a gift otherwise, are able to choose a toy, coat, gloves, new clothes and other items for their children. We ask that you help us in our continued support for these 600 families. Bring an unwrapped gift to the Rye Ys drop box in the lobby. The following are some basic guidelines: - Toys and Games for children up to 11 years old. You may choose an ornament with a specific age from our giving tree as a guideline. - Gift Cards to major department stores for tweens/teens 12 through 16 (hand directly to the front desk) Deadline is December 13th |
|
Watch for our Camp Guide and Program Guide - both will be online by mid-month! |
The Rye Y is committed to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
