DANGEROUS DRUGS AND MEDICAL DEVICES
Increasingly large pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufactures are placing their profit above the safety of patients. This month we take a look at several medications and devices that you may be currently using.
|
Pradaxa or Dabigatran Etexilate is a blood thinner used to reduce the risk of strokes and blood clots. It is widely prescribed as an alternative to Coumadin. Unfortunately, in can cause spontaneous and uncontrollable bleeding resulting in a stroke and even death. Hundreds of injured Pradaxa patients have already filed lawsuits. Read More Here.

   Metal-on-Metal Hip Implant Recalled
Stryker's Rejuvenate and ABG II hip implant systems have both been recalled. They have been on the market for less than two years. Lawsuits against Stryker have already been filed alleging that the implants are defective.
Stryker's Rejuvenate design uses a new interchangeable stem that was supposed to provide a more custom if. Unfortunately the implants were sold without sufficient testing. Many hips have failed, caused pseudo-tumors, elevated heavy metal concentration in the blood, leaving many people with the need to have them removed and replaced. Read More Here.

GRANUFLO and NATURALYTE
Half a million patients require dialysis every day. Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) is the world's largest owner and operator of dialysis centers. It also manufactures many of the machines and drugs used in dialysis. GranuFlo and NaturaLyte are medications that are made and administered by Fresenius or other dialysis centers to cleanse blood of toxins and waste. GranuFlo and NaturaLyte contain both acetic acid and sodium acetate. When these chemicals are mixed improperly, they can cause dangerously high serum bicarbonate levels in patients undergoing dialysis. If you or a family member or loved one are currently under dialysis or have suffered from cardiac arrest, heart attack, or other illnesses following dialysis and want to know if you have a case for a dialysis injury contact our office for a consultation regarding your legal rights. Currently we are investigating claims against Fresenius for their failure to warn the public and failure to accurately report the dangers of GranuFlo and NaturalLyte that lead to the wrongful death of a Miami husband and father.
