new website!

Our new website is now live! You can check it out at the same web address, www.communityofgrace.net

The site is more modern, more fresh, and has more information.  But some of the cool, new features we would like you to check out initially are 1) the "prayer" wall, 2) the "sharing" wall, and 3) the "invite a friend" wall.  Please check it out and sign up to participate.  If you have any questions, please let us know!
sha'al

Pastor Brad is inviting you to become part of a "prophetic, listening and seeking prayer warrior-group."

Sha'al (pronounced: Shaw-al'), is an Old Testament Hebrew word, which primarily means and relates to asking God for specific guidance.  Thus, the goal of the Sha'al group will be to specifically seek out the Lord's guidance for our ministry together here at Community of Grace.

Everyone is invited to join this group.  Sha'al will meet after the worship service once a month -- on the second Sunday of each month.  The next meeting will be on Sunday, August 11th.  There is no need to "sign up" anywhere, just plan on staying after worship on
August 11th and check it out.
COPE backpack drive

COPE members churches are collecting school supplies again this year for the local families in the Valley and Waterloo area.

Each church is being asked for donations of specific items.  All donations need to be dropped off at the church by Sunday noon, July 28th.  A box marked "COPE" will be under the bulletin board in the Narthex to collect the items.

Community of Grace is being asked to provide the following:
  • 4 backpacks
  • 20-crayon packs (24 count)
  • 40 - loose leaf paper, college ruled, 80+count
  • 60 red pens
  • 25 rulers with metric/standard sides
  • 20 Fiskar scissors - children's rounded

Thank you for putting smiles on the faces of these western Douglas school students!

living proof live

Beth Moore is coming to South Dakota!  Community of Women would like to explore if a group would like to travel together to attend this event.  According to the website, "For the past 15 years, women across the world have been joining together for Living Proof Live with Beth Moore-an event designed to teach women to love and live on God's Word. Beth's message for each event is based on the Scripture that the Lord lays on her heart-no two messages are the same."

Please read more about it here.

If you would like to travel with this group to this event, or if you have any questions, please contact Susan Hall.
a few good men

The men's group is taking the summer off from their monthly meeting, but they will be meeting for one or two social gatherings this summer.  Stay tuned for details!

We've had a great turnout of men who wish to strengthen their walk with the Lord.  If you have questions, please speak with Terry Oberembt or email him at toberembt@gmail.com.

Kidz Info & News
kindergarten - 5th grade

new check-in system

Here at Community of Grace Kidz Ministry, we are charged to take our role as both physical and spiritual guardians very seriously and we want to do everything we reasonably can to make our ministry environments a safe place for the kids who come.

So, in addition to the current safety protocol we have in place, we are adding a children's check-in system. Currently, we will be using a manual check-in system as we review more streamlined systems. When children enter the building, their parents/guardians are asked to sign their children in for Kidz Worship and Nursery. And again, sign them out after worship. This helps us as leaders insure their safety.

We will continually ask ourselves what things can we do better and what ways can we make our ministry area more secure for the safety of our children, families and volunteers.
