Greetings!

Start planning, both for 4th of July activities, and our brief shop closure coming up.  We will be open on July 4th.  Check out the New Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience classes starting in July.  Come on by and get a sample of the RB Roll of food/treats that work great in training classes.

Future exceptions, for your planning purposes, are always posted on our website, under "Contacts" (scroll down).   And we always put it on our outgoing phone message, when the shop is closed.   In addition to our Flexible Puppy Kindergarten/Basic Obedience classes, on Friday evenings, we are starting new, six week Puppy Kindergarten-Foundations (puppies 2-6 months), and six week Basic Obedience-Essentials (dogs over 6 months) in July.  There are sections being offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Please see Training Classes for more information.  There also is a Problem Solving class, on Fridays.

RB Rolls (food and treats)
RB Food/treats
RB Food/treats
Here is a great item that works both as a complete dog food, and a high value treat.  RB Rolls come in three flavors, are easy to cut,and come in three sizes.  I can get over 1000 treats from a 10 oz roll, for only $2.66!

Prepare for 4th of July
It's that time of year again...fire crackers, loud noises and more.  I would recommend you start a few days before the 4th, helping your pet(s) to be relaxed and calm in the midst of all of this.  Here are just a few ideas of things we have used very successfully to calm and settle pets:
TTouch (of course), Abalone, Raccoon and Clouded Leopard circles, try clockwise and counter clockwise.  Also body wraps.
Tranquility (Herbal drops, from Animals Apawthacary)
Tranquility  or Recovery Remedy (Flower Essences, from AnaFlora)
  Homeopathy (Homeopet-Anxiety/Stress)
  Thundershirt
Calming Music (Through a Dog's Ear)
Happy Traveler (calming dog treats-Ark Naturals)
Quiet Tea (from The Honest Kitchen-make a tea and/or use the powder on food)
Quiet Yourself and make sure your energies are running in the right direction (Eden Energy Medicine-5 minute Daily Routine)
Accupressure -the three points on the head, at the "third eye" and by each ear
Breathe!  Perhaps the most important of all, remember to keep breathing, slow and relaxed, to help your pet entrain to THAT state, rather than reacting to the noise and commotion.  Be a good example.
We have most of the supplements available at our shop.
Remember, 24/7 pickup is available, by arrangement.

Legislation and Trade Agreements-its scary
Once again, there is federal legislation, trade agreements and more action, which, if passed, will basically, down the road, make supplements (for you and your pet), and even organic, non-GMO (genetically modified organism), pesticide free food a thing of the past.  Big Agriculture and pharmaceutical companies are stepping up, to make it illegal and/or cost prohibitive, to eat healthfully (food IS medicine), because it won't exist.  Despite the studies that continue to prove the harmful effects of GMOs, pesticides, drugs, toxins and more, it makes them tons of money, keeping ourselves (and our pets) less than healthy.  The part that bothers me most is that it is taking away our individual CHOICE by controlling the food and raw materials supply.  We won't be able to buy an organic apple, at any price because the organic farmers will be out of business.
While it's never fun, it really is important to get involved.  So if you value having the ability to find high quality, non-toxified or genetically altered foods, I encourage you to keep up with the issues.  Get the "other side of the story" from the constant barrage of clever advertising that we are subject to day in and day out.  Get information from numerous sources to check out the "facts". Even if only half the information is true, it is overwhelmingly scary.
Here are some links to organizations that are working to bring you that "other side of the story".  I'm sure there are many more.  Personally, I have seen the evidence many times, in both myself and my dogs (and other's), in eating healthfully, and eliminating toxins.

Happy (and safe) July 4th!
