Roanoke Church rebounds after members leave

The 70 members who remained wanted to be part of Mennonite Church USA.

In May 2010, Roanoke Mennonite Church in Eureka, Ill., held a vote to decide whether or not to remain as a member of Mennonite Church USA. The vote occurred after a recommendation by the church elders to withdraw from Mennonite Church USA.

The vote required a two-thirds majority; it failed by a small amount, about 3 percent. At that point, about 100 church members left to start another congregation, and 70 remained at Roanoke Mennonite Church ...

College Corner: Hesston College Aviation receives full-motion simulator

This semester, Hesston (Kan.) College Aviation and Air Traffic Control students are flying high while planted firmly on the ground.

As part of the college's Delivering the Promise capital campaign, Hesston College received a generous anonymous gift which helped to fund a Redbird MCX C182 G1000 GFC700 flight simulator. The full-motion simulator was delivered Dec. 18 and replaced a flight training device that had been part of the program for 12 years ...
