Charletta and I arrived in Iowa City by bus on the evening of Dec 19. Greyhound canceled the rest of the route (on to Des Moines) and sent the bus back to Chicago. The thunderstorm blizzard had already started to rain on us as we drove the rest of the way to the Erb farm. That night we were treated to lightening and thunder as the snow began, along with 40 mile per hour winds ...
