ELCA Glocal Mission Binder
Invite your congregation to
Glocal Mission Day! 

On Saturday, June 14 of the synod assembly we invite anyone interested in learning more about local and global missions to join us for the day!    

 

Treat yourself to a day focused on Global and Local Mission emphasis. Hear Rev. Sunitha Mortha, ELCA's Director for Mission Formation, and Bishop Jon Anderson speak about our church's mission outreach around the world and in our communities. Attend two workshops from the list below and grow your awareness of mission ministry. You will also receive an ELCA Glocal Mission Binder of resources to either enhance or jump- start your mission at home. Enjoy listening and learning about global music too!

You do NOT need to be a voting member but you do need to register for this day in advance.  

If you are a voting member you do not need to register for this day, it is included in your assembly registration. Cost is $25 per person. (cost includes lunch and an ELCA Glocal Mission Binder)

Assembly Materials 
The pre-assembly book is available online for download!  Pre-assembly books were mailed to congregations on May 22 to those who purchased the pre-assembly book while registering.
Be sure to visit the assembly webpage to get the most up to date information. 

Assembly Offerings 

Again, we are inviting you to bring two offerings, a financial offering and a plan offering.   

 

Your financial offering has been designated to Luther Seminary and The Evangelical Lutheran church in Southern Africa - South Eastern Diocese for education. Congregations are encouraged to contribute $1 per baptized member for this offering. Please send your gifts along with your voting members to the assembly.

If you need to mail a check to the synod office, please note that this offering opportunity will close July 31, 2014, so that the gifts may be disbursed in a timely manner. Your generosity for these ministries is truly appreciated.


Your plan offering is each congregation's offering of a plan for their congregation's ministry. Last year Bishop Jon Anderson encouraged congregations to bring a plan your council and leaders have created as they have sought to discern God's will for the coming year. It could be a full-fledged plan or a single plan to achieve one goal.
