Meet ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton
Bishop Eaton will be in the SW MN Synod on Friday, April 25 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Willmar from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

We are excited to host our new Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton.  She is completing a loop of gatherings in the Dakotas and Minnesota in our gathering. We hope you can come to learn more about God's mission that we participate in, our church body's life as we seek to grow more vital congregations full of gracious and fruitful disciples and get to know more about our presiding bishop as a Christ follower.  


Let's give our new Presiding Bishop a warm Southwestern Minnesota welcome!

P.I.E. (PROSPER INVEST ENDOW): A Recipe for Generosity

This PIE workshop is based on Psalm 1, and developed by our SW MN Synod that addresses legacy gift planning in a fun and informative way. It is not a "sales pitch." You will not be pressured as often is reported happens at "Estate planning" events.  You will not be asked to sign up for anything. There are no products sold. Rather, P.I.E. informs!  It shares a healthy "recipe," through the use of music, scripture, stories, and gift planning resources.  


You 'll learn how to pass stories, values, and assets to the next generation in a way that brings glory to God! Plus, you'll learn how doing this not only brings Glory to God as a witness to your faith but it does something else: It keeps families together rather than fighting over final gift decisions!  Again, there is NO cost.  No products will be sold.  


The workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. 

Please arrive between 9:30-10:00 to pick out your favorite pie! Yes, dessert is first!

PSST...Retreat: The Pastoral Staff Support Time 
PSST... Represents a new network in our synod designed for pastors serving in settings with other pastors. 

Congregational leadership with two or more ordained staff members is uniquely challenging.  The goal of this retreat is to address these challenges. What are the dynamics when one pastor is in a lead role, and another in a complementary position
What are the dynamics and tensions of a "team ministry?"   What are the best practices for healthy staff relationships that encourage vitality in our communities of faith? Come as pastoral staff for worship, reflection and renewal together--or come by yourself and bring back ideas. 

Pastor Al Negstad, Minneapolis, is our facilitator who brings a lifetime of experience with staff ministry, internship supervision, and coaching to this event where he will guide participants through activities and discussion around issues uniquely faced by pastors serving together in the same congregation(s) 
 
The retreat begins with Bishop Eaton's speaking at 1:00 p.m., and continues afterwards at
St. Andrew's Village in New London.
