Construction on Seaport Blvd. parking lots reducing amount of parking availability
Construction of two towers is planned on portions of existing parking lots in the South Boston Waterfront. In August, 487 parking spaces were taken out of service from the lot between Boston Wharf Road and East Service Road. In September, an additional 160 parking spaces will be removed from the lot at the corner of Seaport Boulevard and Boston Wharf Road, adjacent to the new Q Park.
| | (Click image for full size graphic and advisory PDF). |
As a result of the decreased parking supply, the daily and monthly rate for parking in the surrounding spaces has increased. With more construction planned for additional surface parking lots in the South Boston Waterfront, the Seaport TMA encourages drive alone commuters to contact us about alternative commute options including transit, shuttles, carpools, vanpools and biking/walking.
Please see the advisory PDF (published August 9) for a detailed advisory on development of these areas, as well as a map of the affected parking areas.
