stuff their stockings @ Green Apple Books
Greetings!

Gift Ideas

It's such a pleasure to be slinging books madly this week, solving gift conundrums, passing our year's favorites on to hungry readers, filling stockings with goofy stuff.  To try to tempt you in one more time this year, we present the following, with details further down:

  • Longer Hours;
  • our Apple-a-Month fiction subscription;
  • SIGNED books you won't find elsewhere;
  • links to lists of best books of the year;
  • books for cooks and kids;
  • Crosley record players;
  • Litographs--the perfect gift for the true bibliophile;
  • stocking stuffer ideas, most under $20; and
  • Kobo e-readers that stack up well against Kindles and Nooks.

And our site always offers free shipping for orders over $35 (except e-readers).

We hope to see you in the store soon--it's festive in here, and we'd like to personally thank you for supporting Green Apple Books.  If you don't make it in, you can shop our website 24/7 (gift cards!).  We even offer curbside delivery if you're in a hurry (and who isn't)? Just order online or by phone and call when you're close.

And THANK YOU for reading.

Happy holidays from all 28 Green Applers.

APPLE-a-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION

Apple a Month

We often hear that customers come to Green Apple to find the book they're looking for but stay for hours to peruse the books we recommend. But if you live far away, have schedules that inhibit your ability to read hundreds of handwritten index cards before selecting your next book, or are looking for a perfect perennial gift for the bibliophile in your life: The Apple-a-Month Club is here for you.

Details here.  Or look here to see past books in the subscription series.

SIGNED books you won't find elsewhere

We've had some top-notch authors drop by this fall, so we have signed copies of some great books, including Dave Eggers, Allie Brosh, Ann Patchett, chef David Tanis, and more. We even have James McBride's National Book Award winning novel The Good Lord Bird signed!

We may run out, so call first if you've got your heart set on something.

BEST BOOKS of 2013
Here are some links if you'd rather shop on our website than come in, or if you want to make a list to prevent OBS (Overwhelmed by Books Syndrome).

And we stand ready to recommend a great book for anyone.  Just drop in and ask!

Crosley Record Players
We've long offered and recently expanded a fine selection of new and used music on vinyl.  So it's about time we sell turntables, and nothing cuter and more practical than those made by Crosley.  They range from about $100 to $160.  A few even have USB ports, so you can rip your music while listening.  And our prices generally meet or beat our competitors.
Litographs
Pride & Prejudice
If you really don't know what to get the bibliophile in your life--she's read it all!--we have a solution for you: Litographs.  These artists take the entire text of a great book, lay it out beautifully, and print gorgeous posters and bags.  We have a selection of about 40 designs, and they're really unique.

You can view them well here (but they can't get them to you by Christmas, so drop by for our selection!).
Stocking Stuffers
If you have anyone on your list who doesn't like books (gasp!), we can still help out.  We have LPs, DVDs, magazines, journals, shirts and bags, games, puzzles, and all kinds of quirky gifts.  Here's a sampling of some of our favorites rights now:
book art match boxes
Sutro Tower kit
cute coin purses
Mason Jar Shaker
erasers

Read Digitally AND Shop Locally
Kobo Glo
While we're fans on real books on real paper, we recognize that some folks want to read eBooks, so we've partnered with Kobo to sell eBooks for any device (except Kindle).  If you get the app through these links for Android or IOS, Green Apple will get half the profits from any eBooks you buy.

We also sell two eReaders and an eBook-centric tablet.  We even have demo devices in-store, so you can test-drive them before buying.  And with each eBook purchased on those devices, we get half the profit.  So you CAN eRead and support Green Apple at the same time!
Thanks for reading!
