Heffner Plumbing Newsletter

Fox 59 in Indianapolis did an interview with me that aired on July 10, 2014 regarding tankless water heaters and the upcoming water heater changes that are being mandated by the Department of Energy (DOE). My goal with getting this information out now is consumer awareness since the Federal Government does not seem to be publicizing these changes beyond a link on the DOE web site. The impact for most consumers beyond the increased cost of the new technology may be negligible. For some homeowners that have their water heaters installed in a confined space (wedged between a wall and furnace or other appliance) however, the impact of these changes can be significant and costly. Please contact me with any questions and/or concerns.

It's been a few years since Angie's List has published an article that I have written, but I was recently asked to write for their Experts Contributor program. I will now have an monthly article published on-line (and perhaps in their magazine). Here's the link for those that may be interested: Angie's List article

New Graphics for Heffner Plumbing Van
|
The graphic of the Delta shower had been on the van for close to 8 years. Although distinctive, it was time for a change.
Thanks to a co-op program with Navien tankless water heaters and Indianapolis Winsupply where I purchase these units, Heffner Plumbing now has a new look for its van!

Shower Caddies are nice, but...
|
Storage in a shower can often be a challenge. Shower caddies are a convenient way to store shampoo and body wash. Too much weight from these storage units can actually cause the pipe for the shower head to leak in the wall.
A better alternative is a shower caddy that fits in the corner of the shower or one that can be hung on the tub/shower door. |

A First Step or Taking Sump Pump Protection To The Next Level
|
|
The PitBoss is 21st Century technology at its best. Utilizing existing cellular service (it doesn't matter what carrier it is), the PitBoss can send text messages to 3 different phones when there's a problem. The cost of the installation covers the first year of cellular service and the annual cost after that is $30.00. The installed price starts at $375.00, but the cost can vary depending on the installation.
So whether you don't have a battery back-up sump pump and this is a first step toward that goal or if you want to take sump protection to the next level, the PitBoss is the answer.
Here is a video with more information about the PitBoss;
