Heffner Plumbing

 October,  2010
Greetings!

I apologize for not getting a newsletter out in September. For those of you that don't know this, I'm an Adult Leader with a youth program called Young Marines. I recently took over the unit as the Commanding Officer and now have almost a 2nd full-time job. This is a volunteer gig, so don't think that your plumber is getting ready to change professions. Please keep calling!

The Clock Is Ticking On The Federal Tax Credit. Now Is The Time To Get That Tankless Water Heater.

The Federal tax credit for the installation of high efficieny appliances runs out on December 31, 2010. If you have spoken to me about a tankless water heater and are in that wait and see mode, now is the time to act. This tax credit is for 30% of the cost of the job up to $1500.00. Not to sound like the plaid jacketed used car salesman, but this is less than 2 months away and there is only one of me.

Although I preached the gospel of Rinnai tankless water heaters for years, I have made the decision to switch to another brand called Navien. The Navien units have a greater output, but more importantly can be vented with PVC pipe. The vent pipe for the Rinnai units is expensive and in some cases, made the installation cost prohibitive. If you're done using the garden hose for the season, go ahead and disconnect it now before you forget. Don't be the customer that calls next spring to say that their basement flooded because they forgot to disconnect the garden hose over the winter. An ounce of prevention...
