Green Team Goes All Out!
Partnership Grant Spotlight

With the goal of fostering personal connections with the region's diverse ecological resources, Groundwork Lawrence coordinated a series of place-based learning activities for over 30 members of its urban Green Team. The high school-aged, peer leaders hiked Agassiz Rock Reservation in Manchester-by-the-Sea , Crane Beach in Ipswich, and Camp Denison in Georgetown. They took a boat to Bakers Island Light Station in Salem Sound, camped at Harold Parker State Forest in North Andover, and tried rock climbing at Metro Rock in Newburyport and Den Rock Park in Lawrence. Back home, the team applied the lessons learned during their community initiatives and hands-on improvement efforts throughout the city.
