2016 -- A Year of Celebrations!
2016 is a big year for both the Essex National Heritage Area and the National Park Service: it is the 20th anniversary of the Congressional Act that designated the Essex National Heritage Area and it is also the National Park Service Centennial! Stay tuned for more: we're looking forward to celebrating our National Parks, public lands, and the remarkable people and places that make the Essex National Heritage Area like nowhere else throughout the year!

Boardwalk Empire
Partnership Grant Spotlight

With the goal of connecting people with places, the Lake Gardner Improvement Association partnered with Amesbury Trails to spearhead construction of a new boardwalk spanning Amesbury's Great Swamp. The 300 ft. "bog bridge" greatly improves trail user access to protected land owned by the City of Amesbury and Essex County Greenbelt. Learn more.
