Tour d'Elegance Returns to Byway
The Byway will once again be the setting for the annual Tour d'Elegance. Slated for Saturday, July 26, many of New England's finest classic cars will drive a 40-mile coastal route from Beverly to Newburyport. The tour is organized as part of the Misselwood Concours d'Elegance, the region's premier boutique car show held at the Endicott College's Misselwood Estate. Read More.
17th Century Saturdays
More than a dozen historic First Period structures throughout the Byway communities will be open to visitors for special hours on the first Saturday of each month through October. Partnership Grant Spotlight
Essex Shipbuilding Museum
The museum's summer exhibit, "The Building of the Schooner Mayflower in 1921," is the last of four free seasonal exhibits "re-presenting" the museum's key, long term programs and one-day events celebrating Essex history. The novel strategic initiative expands the public's access to and understanding of the museum's core interpretive programming. The prior exhibits have featured gravestones, canines at sea and coastal ecology (river and marsh).

Heritage Education Spotlight
Chorale in the Community
As part of the Essex Heritage and National Park Service Park for Every Classroom program, Swampscott Middle School Music Director, Jennifer Bowler, worked with her chorale students throughout last school year to investigate the role of a musician within their community.
