Essex Heritage Receives NPF Grant 

 

The Essex National Heritage Area has been selected, along with 48 national parks participating in the 2012 America's Best Idea program sponsored by the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks. Essex Heritage, in partnership with The House of Seven Gables in Salem, MA received a grant which will fund a new project titled "Making the Caribbean Connection" The goal of the project is to engage underserved Latino youth in discovering and telling the untold stories of Salem and the Caribbean. Endicott Names The Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts

Endicott College recently announced the naming of their year-old arts building after local Rockport artist, Walter Manninen.  Mr. Manninen has donated more than 200 pieces of artwork to the school. Read more

Trails & Sails Update: Volunteer!ENHA Logo

 

Thanks to new and returning event hosts, over 200 events have been scheduled for Trails & Sails 2012. YOU can also celebrate our region by volunteering at an event!

 

Trails & Sails is Essex Heritage's premier partnership event attracting over 4,000 people to events across Essex County, MA.  We are looking for volunteers for Trails & Sails. Come help distribute program guides, help hosts with check-in and provide general support to event leaders. All tasks offer flexibility in scheduling and consideration of any physical limitations.

 

If you're energetic and love history, culture and the great outdoors, then this is an excellent opportunity to give back to your community, support local preservation efforts and learn more about your Heritage Area!
