Byway Rack Cards

Promotion of the byway recently received a boost with the distribution of a rack card. The colorful, two sided card directs readers to the byway website where they can learn about things to see and do in the byway region.

Announcing the First Captain of the Friendship!

 

Congratulations to the first permanent Captain of the Friendship, Jeremy Bumagin.  The Friendship is a replica of the 1797 East Indiaman that was captured in the war of 1812.  Today, you can tour and visit the Friendship at Derby Wharf.  Learn more about Friendship.

Annie C. Harris Receives the 2012 MHC Lifetime Achievement Award

 

Last month, Annie Harris, Executive Director of Essex Heritage was presented with the 2012 Massachusetts Historical Commission's 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award by Secretary Galvin.  "The Massachusetts Historical Commission is proud to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of this year's awardees," said Secretary Galvin. "For nearly 40 years, Ms. Harris has demonstrated outstanding preservation leadership and innovation at the local, state, and national levels, and has made significant contributions to the preservation of the Commonwealth's historic resources."
