It has been Holy Comforter's tradition to gift departing clergy with a "purse" consisting of voluntary donations from a grateful congregation. If you would like to contribute to Father Rick's purse, please send a check made out to Holy Comforter, with "Father Rick's Purse" written in the memo line, to the Church Office, Attention: Peggy Miller. The purse will be presented at the reception on June 26.

Summer Book Study Continues
Thursday June 23 at 7 p.m. in the Lillian Croy Room
Please join your Region 5 Region Life Committee for the second session of "New Commandment Conversations: Race, Reconciliation, and God's Call to Community" with a study of Jim Wallis' new book, America's Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and a Bridge to a New America. The study sessions are intended to take place over six weeks. We are using the study guide found here, and will cover roughly the first four chapters of the book, or first two sessions of the study guide. The book is available in hard copy and for Nook and Kindle. Questions? Please contact Joni Langevoort.

If you are interested in deepening your understanding of the Bible, Church History, and Theology, and exploring the impact of your faith on your life, consider signing up for EfM, a distance-learning program offered by the University of the South, Sewanee, TN.  Starting in September, there will again be two EfM groups at Holy Comforter; the Friday class is full but there is still room in the Sunday afternoon class. Youth Labyrinth Walk and Movie Night
Wednesday, June 29
We will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a labyrinth walk and then watch a movie on the lawn! We're inviting our Region 5 youth from neighboring Episcopal churches and this event is open to all rising 7th-12th Graders.

Summer Yoga in July
Saturday, July 2 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
During July, Yoga classes with a Christian focus will be offered Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. in McGill Hall or the Library. This group is suitable for those with either beginner and/or intermediate yoga experience. Dress comfortably and bring a mat. Feel free to bring a towel, block(s) or strap if you have them.
