"Woo Hoo" from You-Know-Who
One Incredible Summer Staff Team Set to Go!
"Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts." - Psalm 145:3-4 What an incredible team of young people God has called to lead our summer youth program! Bill and I hosted this mighty team of forty in our home during staff training for an evening of games, food, and worship. Words cannot describe the awe of listening to them sing praise to our mighty God! And what joy to hear the stories of how they came to a personal belief in Jesus Christ! We can hardly wait to see what God does this summer as these program leaders, counselors, lifeguards, junior staff supervisors, and program specialists impact "the next generation" through their lives and service. Their backgrounds demonstrate the legacies they carry on . . .
- Some are new to Camp, invited by friends or fellow college students.
- A majority are veterans of Camp as campers and staff.
- Half of our staff are products of Camp's junior staff program.
- One is the granddaughter of a Camp Lebanon founder.
- Two are the grandchildren of our former pastor in Long Prairie who supervised Bill's ordination.
- One is the son of a pastor who served Camp churches in Stillwater, MN, and Cavalier, ND.
- Two are children of Camp board members.
- Three are from foreign missionary families.
- One is the daughter of an AWANA missionary.
- Two are siblings from a member church, one of whom was baptized here at Camp!
- Two are children of former staff members.
- One is our own son . . . the youngest of our three kids whose own lives have been significantly impacted by this ministry.
It is a privilege to serve with this team. It is a humbling and profound blessing to see God using Camp Lebanon to bring glory to His Name and to be A Meeting Place with God where kids can come to know Him and grow in relationship with their Creator and Savior. Thanks for sending kids to Camp! Thanks for supporting the ministry! And thanks for praying our summer team through what promises to be an adventurous and fruitful summer! (Follow the daily experiences of our campers on the Summer Photo Blog.) "The evangelistic harvest is always urgent. The destiny of men and of nations is always being decided. Every generation is strategic. We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear full responsibility for the next one; but we do have our generation. God will hold us responsible as to how well we fulfill our responsibilities to this age and take advantage of our opportunities." - Billy Graham

 Welcome, Abigail Nagy
The voice you hear on your next call to Camp Lebanon will probably be that of our new Registrar, Abigail Nagy. Born in Ohio and raised as a "camp kid" (Faith Ranch, Jewett, OH), Abigail graduated from Crown College (BA Worship Arts), worked as a nanny in the Netherlands, and arrived at Camp on April 23, just in time for our Mother & Daughter retreat. She loves kids, camp ministry, and piano.
"I am excited to be a part of the team and get to know the many faces of the Camp Lebanon family," she said.
Abigail replaces Melissa Sturm, who was married on June 7 and now resides in Pittsburgh, PA. Woo hoo!

Out of the Camp Kitchen
This month's recipes are from our new registrar, Abigail Nagy, and they are just in time for summer picnics!
Deep Dish Oatmeal Chocolate Cookie Bars
2 sticks margarine or butter
2 eggs
2-½ cups flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 c. brown sugar
2 t. vanilla
⅓ c. milk (use coconut milk for dairy-free version)
3 c. old-fashioned oats (not instant)
Mix the butter, eggs and brown sugar. Add vanilla and milk. Slowly incorporate the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix well. You may prefer to use a stand mixer since it's quite thick but it can be mixed by hand.
In a saucepan over medium heat melt together:
1 can Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (for some reason the brand name works better than the generic)
⅓ c. margarine or butter
1 t. vanilla
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (or substitute dairy-free)
Spread three-fourths of the cookie mixture on the bottom of a greased 13x9 pan, pour in chocolate mixture, then drop remainder of cookie mixture on top in spoonfuls -- it won't cover completely, but will leave cool designs.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees (may take longer in an electric oven). If the top appears to be browning too much before it's done in the middle, cover with foil during the last ten minutes. Let it cool and set before serving. Great with ice cream or a glass of milk!
Kathie's Potato Salad
6 medium potatoes ½ c. chopped celery ½ c. chopped onion 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped 1-½ c. mayo 1 t. salt 1-½ T. apple cider vinegar 1 t. mustard (opt.) Boil clean, scrubbed potatoes till tender (about 25-30 min.). Cool slightly, peel and cube while hot. Mix mayo, salt, vinegar, and mustard. Mix mayo mixture with potatoes while potatoes are still very warm. Gently stir in celery, onion, and boiled eggs. Sprinkle (opt.) paprika or chili powder on top for color -- and because your mama always did! :) Chill before serving. Serves 6-8.

Help Wanted!
Construction Workers
Camp is now seeking skilled volunteers to help with the construction of the new Eagle's Nest Pavilion on the North 40 Ball Field. The 3300 sq. ft. facility will feature a large recreation room, storage, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and a non-commercial kitchen. The Eagle's Nest will function as a Welcome Center for Camp's RV and camping area on Eagle Ridge, as Command Central for North 40 program activities, and as a Host Site for guest group events, such as weddings, family reunions, and more.
Construction is slated to begin in August. Workers we seek: excavators, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, and landscapers. If interested and available for a weekend, mid-week, or more, email Bill Abeler or call 1.800.816.1502, ext. 15. Thank you!
