Find the Funny
with Guest Speaker, Kelly Ingram

Make your reservations now to attend the Office Professionals Day Luncheon.  If you have not seen Kelly before, you are in for a treat!  Kelly is one of the favorite speakers at the Women of Worth Conference for three years running.

"Transparent" and "Blunt" are words best used to describe Kelly.  Having been raised by a South Georgia swamp Daddy, and an Appalachian Mountain Mama, Kelly has often been referred to as the "Larry the Cable Girl" of Christian Comedy.  With a thick southern accent, and quick witted humor, Kelly uses true life stories to encourage and entertain you.  Kelly is an undefeated Jiu Jitsu fighter, a conference speaker, and a comedienne.  (We can't be completely sure, but she may be the world's only"Christian cage-fighting country comedian.").

Member Spotlight
Our Tax Professionals

This month's member spotlight is on all our tax professionals.  As the tax deadline of April 15th looms, we salute our members that labor all year to assist clients with tax filings and preparations.

Our president, Jennifer Holcomb, can personally testify to the value in having a professional prepare your taxes rather than doing it yourself.  "I have done my own taxes for years now", she states, "and naively wondered why anyone with basic income and deductions would pay to have them prepared, especially with the online tax preparation software available."  She wonders no longer.  This year, as she was complaining to a friend about the amount of taxes she owed, her very wise and trusted comrade recommended she sit down with a local accountant.  On faith, she did so and after hiring one of the Chamber's awesome tax professionals, Jennifer can proudly admit that she was wrong for so many years.  "There is no telling how much money I've overpaid the government", she explains with a tear in her eye.  Jennifer encourages you to rethink preparing your own taxes and to contact one of the following Chamber members for their assistance:

S. Preston Douglas & Associates, 642-6692

Tax Matters, 640-0946

Terray Suggs, PA, 641-0105

Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams, PA, 642-2109

The Chamber staff and board members have delivered our new membership plaques and window decals to each and every member.  If you have not received yours yet, please call the Chamber.  As a membership organization, it is critical for each of us to support one another.  We encourage you, first to display your plaque and window decal in a prominent place, and second to embrace the tenet of supporting fellow members with your business, whenever possible.
