What Would You Do
With $14 Billion?

Friend of ROUSH CleanTech

In 2012, we experienced the highest gasoline prices in the history of the United States, up an additional $.09 per gallon from 2011’s average gasoline price. In 2011, our country consumed almost 140 billion gallons of gasoline.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) was predicting lower gasoline consumption in 2012 than 2011, but due to the increase in prices, incremental spending on gasoline in 2012 reached almost $14 billion.

Washington Fleet Sets an Example

The King County, Wash., Department of Transportation Fleet Division is an industry leader implementing alternative fuel powered vehicles into their fleet. In an effort to reduce the county’s carbon footprint, they currently operate Ford F-250 and F-350 pickup trucks and a Ford E-250 cargo van that operate on dedicated propane autogas fuel systems.

Not only will King County save more than $15,000 per year with propane autogas, but 11,200 fewer gallons of gasoline will be consumed per year and 77, 280 pounds of carbon dioxide will be eliminated from the county’s carbon footprint per year.
