The Callaghan Valley Training Centre is only weeks away from the the first "real" races of the season: a NorAm Cup event in Canmore, AB.  Over the past few months, the CVTC has put in some solid training and a few fun training camp trips across the west of Canada.  With a new website, Facebook fan page, and now newsletter updates, we'll do our best to keep you informed about how the team is doing and where they're going.

Yesterday our team enjoyed our first ski of the year on some awesome trails high above Whitehorse. We are in the Yukon for a week long training camp Thanks to the Yukon Elite Squad and the great pre-season conditions the territory has to offer. The CVTC will be on the road for most of December, returning to Whistler in early January.

The Callaghan Valley Training Centre (CVTC) launched its new website (www.cvtc.ca) on Sunday, November 4.  After nearly four months in development the website features regular news updates and team member profiles in addition to selection criteria and team policy information.
 
Over the course of the year, team members will update the website with news items, favourite ski facilities and lots of photographs.  The website will continue to be an excellent source of information on where to train in Whistler and also "what to do" for visiting athletes.
 
CVTC has also been quite a lively presence on social media. A new Facebook Fan Page, twitter account, and You Tube channel are available and getting new information all of the time. Follow the "Social" links from www.cvtc.ca to see more.

NDC-Callaghan Valley (CVTC) is a high performance training center working within the framework of Cross Country Canada. Our mission is to produce successful skiers at the World Cup level.

 

It is the objective of the CVTC to provide a concentration of world-class training facilities, coaching and sport science resources for cross-country ski athletes. As part of its mandate, the training centre provides in reach and outreach programs to support the development of selected athletes and coaches through mentoring, clinics, workshops, and training camps.
